Now that you know what services we are offering, let me introduce you to the team. My name is Gerard Brennen. I am a Certified Strength And Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), with a Bachelors Degree in Health and Human Performance and Business Sports Management. During college, I was a member of the Union College Gymnaires, which is a combination of traditional gymnastics and sports acrobatics. After graduating college, I found employment as a full time personal trainer. Shorty after starting my career, I quickly learned that my training style was leaning towards teaching. Subsequently, I pursued a career in Physical Education. I was fortunate to incorporate many of the skills I learned in gymnastics and personal training into my teaching. I am now back to training full time and am loving it. I believe teaching helped to add value to my training method and my character. Along with health and fitness, I am also passionate about technology and fine art. I have managed to mesh those two worlds together to produce some amazing digital paintings.
Now to introduce my team member that will help complete the ultimate fitness equation, Meagan Hovendick. It’s an honor to have Meagan partnering with me to add value to Brennen Fitness. She is an expert in the field of nutrition and I have found that much of her teachings and philosophy are congruent with mine. She is highly qualified and passionate about her profession.
“My name is Meagan Hovendick and I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and I am extremely passionate about helping others to become their best self. My goal is to help individuals learn to appreciate their bodies and what their bodies can do – our bodies are pretty incredible and we have every reason to take good care of them.
A little bit about my background and qualifications – I completed my Bachelor of Science with a focus in Nutrition, Exercise, and Health Science and Dietetics. My undergrad was followed by the completion of a Dietetic Internship and a Master of Science Degree in Medical Nutrition. My Bachelor’s degree also encompasses Exercise Science and I have been certified as a Group Fitness Instructor through the American Fitness and Aerobic Association.
Personally, I enjoy running both for fun and competition. I have competed in several half and full marathons as well as a few sprint triathlons. Someday (soon I hope), I would love to complete a half iron man.”
